Question: I found some pills in my daughters bag, they are
small caplets red and yellow and say across the pill Duract can't seem to find any
information about these. Any idea what they might be???
Answer: Duract is a peripheral acting analgesic that belongs to the
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory class of drugs(similar to motrin, advil etc.). Currently
off the market due to toxicity.
Duract Concerns [posted
Question: My doctor prescribed Duract (60 pills + refill) for a back injury. I only
took these pills for about a month. This has been about 6 months ago. My question is, with
the drug Duract being pulled from the shelf and the warning that it should be used no
longer than 10 days unless the doctor has you on liver enzyme checks. My doctor never
mentioned anything to me and I am worried. What should I do?
Answer: This problem came to light after many patients for many
months. Check your liver functions, but, you probably have nothing to be concerned about.
An uncommon;but, serious problem.
