Mouth Membrane "Fall Out"
Question:The membrane on the inside of my mouth began "falling out" for a period of 3-4 weeks. It seemed quite chronic and what was falling out could easily be brushed away with my toungue and looked like what comes out after you've scorched your mouth with hot food. The doctor tested me for oral thrush and the test came back negative. However, since she didn't test me until after the symptoms were just about gone, is it possible that I could have had thrush?

Answer:What you are describing sounds like thrush. This is sometimes difficult to diagnose and treatment which abolished this whitish coating is sometimes the best option. Thrush is an overgrowth of yeast in the mouth. Commonly, seen when taking antibiotics which kill competing bacteria-allowing the yeast free rein to multiply.
