Question: I visited your web site and appreciate the info. Do you have any more info on pectus excavatum?

Answer: Pectus excavatum is seen in individuals whose sternum recedes into their chest. It is usually an inherited condition and is seen repeatedly in families. It has few medical sequelae except the the heart is pressed a little by the sternum and appears larger on x-ray than it truly is. Occasionally, an individual will have an abnormal EKG due to marked pectus.
