Question: I amtaking 10 mg. of norvasc and my feet are very swollen. I am also taking 80 mg. of lasix. Will that help reduce the swelling? If not is there another calcium blocker I can take that wont make my feet swell up. I am also taking immunosuppressent drugs, because I just had a kidney transplant.

Answer: The swelling is probably a class effect of the calcium channel blocker. While Norvasc is better than most, it does cause swelling that will not go away until you stop the medication. Diuretics usually have no effect, but worth trying. You can find out by stopping the drug for a couple of days, but watch your bp closely and let your doctor know.
