Anger & Rage
Question: I was watching TV about 2 weeks ago and one of the evening news programs(Hard Copy, or some such thing) presented a segment about some of the new drugs that have been recently approved to help people control rage. It seems that one of the drugs mentioned had a name like "Zippermine" (I'm sure its not spelled correctly) or something. Does anyone know about this drug or others that have been recently approved for the treatment of rage?

Answer: Many of the antidepressants are used to treat inappropriate rage attacks. The SRI class is probably the most popular-this includes Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, etc. I suspect you are referring to imipramine, a tri-cyclic antidepressant;but, I would consult the show to be sure.
